Building a submersible radio is no simple task! STANDARD HORIZON utilizes a high impact non-corrosive case, display lens conspicuous waterproof gasketing, waterproof connectors and PCB's protected with Humiseal barrier. Engineered for unparalleled reliability, the HORIZON QUEST exceed submersions of 3' for 30 minutes.

Digital Selective Calling

The QUEST meets the Internationally recognized requirements for SC101 Digital Selective Calling. The DISTRESS function activates the unattended, continuous digital MAYDAY including vessel identification, Latitude / Longitude and time, to facilitate prompt response. Additional calls that can be made are Individual, Urgency, Safety, Position Request (reply only).

GPS Repeatability

When connected to a GPS receiver the QUEST repeats Latitude and Longitude along with date and time on the radio display. This is a handy way of knowing you position when the radio and GPS are at different locations.

Huge LCD Display

Visibility is enhanced with an enormous LCD with tall, wide digits and obvious information flags that are easy to identify. The LCD and keypad feature 3-step backlighting and 7 steps of LCD contrast adjustment.

Noaa Weather Alert, Programmable Scanning And Priority Scan

QUEST highlights scanning of user selected channels or priority scanning of Channel 16. Additionally, QUEST features 10 NOAA weather channels including weather alert allowing QUEST to intercept frequency encoded Weather alerts. The LCD display provides visual indications for all scanning functions in a bold easy to understand flags.

Clear Voice Noise Reduction Technology

The HORIZON QUEST utilizes an exceptional microphone meeting the same strict standards for waterproofness as the radio. QUEST features Clear Voice Noise Reduction Technology eliminating unwanted background noises like engines and wind during transmission. This assures transmissions are crystal clear.
